The City of Olathe website was awarded a fourth place ranking by the 2003 Digital Cities Survey from the Center for Digital Government

LEED Green Building Certification
The Municipal Services Department is awarded a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council for the new Municipal Services Administrative Building. This is the first municipal building in the State of Kansas to qualify for this prestigious certification

GFOA Certificate of Achievement
The Accounting Division is recognized by Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) with a Certificate of Achievement in Financial Reporting for its 25th consecutive year

Seyfried Inducted into KDHE Hall of Fame
Solid Waste Manager, Kent Seyfried, is inducted into the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) Kansas Waste Management Hall of Fame. Persons who have established exemplary performance yielding clear improvement in the management of solid waste in Kansas are honored by KDHE 

Acts of Caring Award
The Route K-Olathe Jo Flex program, in partnership with Johnson County Transit, is awarded the Acts of Caring Award from the National Association of Counties

Tree City USA
Olathe is recognized by the National Arbor day Foundation as a Tree City USA for the 21st time and receives a Growth Award for its 11th year

Best in State Wastewater Collections
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) recognizes the Wastewater Division as the Best In State with the Class III Wastewater Collection System Award for the third year in a row

APWA Projects of the Year
The American Public Works Assocation (APWA) Kansas City Metropolitan Chapter recognizes Olathe City Hall and Olathe Municipal Services Center as Projects of the Year

All-American City Finalist
Olathe is recognized as an All-American City Finalist and is one of only 30 cities to be recognized

NAHRO Award of Merit
The Olathe Housing Authority receives a National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (NAHRO) Award of Merit in Housing and Community Development for its partnership in the development of affordable transportation for low-income individuals through the Route K-Olathe JoFlex

Public Works Receives National Accreditation
The Public Works Department receives national accreditation through the American Public Works Association (APWA). Olathe is one of only cities nationally, and the first in Kansas, to receive the accreditation

IPMA-HR Central Region Best Practices Award
Olathe is awarded the International Public Management Assocation for Human Resources (IPMA-HR) Central Region 2004 Best Practices award for its facilitation training program
