Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR)
The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) presented the City of Olathe with the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the 30th consecutive year.  This award recognizes the outstanding presentation and standards of the City’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR)

Government Finance Officers Association Distinguished Budget Presentation Award
Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) established the Distinguished Budget Presentation Awards Program to encourage and assist state and local governments to prepare budget documents of the very highest quality that reflect both the guidelines established by the National Advisory Council on State and Local Budgeting and the GFOA’s recommended practices on budgeting and then to recognize individual governments that succeed in achieving that goal.  Through the hard work and dedication of the City of Olathe’s Budget staff, the City submitted the approved 2008 budget and won the award for the fourth time.  Read More

 2008 Money Magazine ranks Olathe as "America's 11th Best Place to Live"
The City of Olathe ranks 11th by Money Magazine on their list of America's Best Places to Live over 50,000 in population, noting the city's growth and major employers.  This follows Olathe's 2006 ranking of 13th Best Place to Live.

Mayor Michael Copeland named 2007 Citizen of the Year by the Olathe Chamber of Commerce

The Standard and Poor's Rating Agency upgrades the City of Olathe's bond rating to AA+, which is the second highest bond rating an organization can receive.  Read More
