The Olathe Sister Cities Association is a non-profit organization which helps fund and support sister cities programs through membership dues and other fundraising projects. Members of the Association, referred to as "Olathe Sister Cities Ambassadors," form a network of citizens throughout the community who serve as goodwill ambassadors for Olathe. Sister Cities Ambassadors often have international interests and backgrounds and/or links to foreign cities through their heritage, businesses, schools, or arts and cultural connections. Ambassadors meet on a quarterly basis and may be called upon to serve on special committees or as translators, tour guides, or host families for home stays for international guests.

The Olathe Sister Cities Committee and Olathe Sister Cities Association Ambassadors seek to:

  • Promote peace, prosperity, and cooperation through mutual respect, appreciation, and understanding of other nationalities and cultures.
  • Foster meaningful relationships and exchanges between the City of Olathe and other communities in fields such as education, government, business, community service, and the arts.
  • Engage community resources and contacts, both at home and abroad, to further Olathe's diversity goals and objectives.
  • Establish international partnerships, initiatives, and exchanges to enhance the quality of life for citizens of Olathe and communities
    throughout the world.
