The City publishes an Adopted Budget Plan each year reflecting Council's service priorities and allocation of resources. With a spirit of excellence, the City annually submits the budtet document to the Government Finance Officers Association's Distinguished Budget Presentation Award Program, which judges the budget as a policy document, financial plan, operations guide, and communications device.
Public input is a critical part of the budget process and can be made at any time during the budget process.

The Olathe Results program, our scorecard for continuous improvement, was launched in 2004. The program is dedicated to tracking community outcomes, benchmarking services against best-in-class jurisdictions, strategic planning, and measuring organizational performance.
Our annual DirectionFinders community survey, public input sessions, Five-Year Strategic Plans, budget and capital improvements processes, and Balanced Scorecard report form the nucleus of a system for delivering results valued by our citizens.
