




Purchasing Coordinator
Fire
Establish and coordinate procurement contracts for the Fire Department. Will assist with providing training to department personnel on purchasing guidelines and procurement card procedures. Coordinate the acquisition of the department fleet and related equipment, fire uniforms, accessories, and supplies. Competitively procure commodities and supplies for the fire department, including researching, receiving, and analyzing bid specifications, recommending sources for purchase, delivery, and making necessary adjustments. Research equipment and supplies and provide recommendations based on department needs and technology enhancements. Maintain inventory of department assets, to include coordinating disposal of fire department surplus. Analyzes department expenditures and procurements. Prepare purchase orders, payment vouchers, utilizing automated finance system. Must also have the ability to manage customer service focused relationships with internal departments and external vendors; along with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, ten key and general office machines and ability to analyze financial data. Requires 3 to 5 years of increasingly responsible procurement experience; public purchasing experience preferred; experience with automated procurement systems preferred, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne a plus; High School diploma required. Supplemented background in public administration, business administration, accounting or related fields; Bachelor degree preferred.
