Students Discover History at Mahaffie

Spring is around the corner and field trips are booking quickly at Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop and Farm Historic Site, 1200 Kansas City Road.

Mahaffie offers students an opportunity to discover history where it happened.  Hands-on activities with animals, wagons and a working stagecoach provide a fun visit for students and a valuable teaching tool for educators. Five structured programs are designed to meet curriculum standards for both Kansas and Missouri schools. Two school programs can be taken to the schools.

Thanks to an award from the Johnson County Heritage Trust Fund, Title I schools in the Kansas City metropolitan area may use scholarship grant funds toward admission fees or transportation costs.. An application is required and grants will be awarded on a first come, first serve basis.
