April is recognized as Fair Housing Month, celebrated across the country and in Olathe as a way to commemorate the 1968 passage of the Fair Housing Act that prohibits discrimination in housing.
The Olathe Human Relations Office plans activities and opportunities to educate people about fair housing rights found within the law during the month.
A Fair Housing Month Proclamation at the April 2 City Council meeting will kick off the activities. Look for additional information each Monday in April.
