Olathe Piloting New Program to Expand Resident Engagement

The City of Olathe is piloting a new program to enhance citizen engagement opportunities, Open Town Hall, as part of its ongoing e-Town Hall initiative.  During the pilot period, residents will have another tool to weigh-in on a number of topics through an online forum accessible on the City’s website, OlatheKS.org.

Various topics will be presented where citizen feedback is helpful in making critical decisions, including the first topic covering the City’s budget.  Residents are asked to subscribe initially, then invited to share opinions and insight.  Open Town Hall is being piloted in conjunction with Peak Democracy, a private company, and all subscription information will be absolutely confidential.

Open Town Hall is designed as another tool for residents to make sure they can conveniently and effectively engage with their government and help shape decisions impacting the entire community.

Residents are encouraged to visit Open Town Hall to subscribe and weigh-in.  If residents find this new tool helpful in better engaging their government, the City plans permanent implementation of this convenient access.
