Volunteers in the Park Program Recognizes Longtime Partnership

The City of Olathe Volunteers in the Park Program will recognize Cub Scout Pack 3387 for 10 years of service at Calamity Line Park on Saturday, April 27 at 11:00 a.m.

While the members of the troop have changed over the years, the commitment to Calamity Line Park has remained constant. The troop dedicates time each year to park clean up and assisting with small projects as assigned by volunteer program coordinator and senior horticulturist Liz Newman.

“It is fun to watch the troop come back each year and take pride in their park,” said Newman. “This is our first group of volunteers to hit this milestone.”

The City will recognize this troop and their efforts after their work day on April 27 with a barbeque lunch and remarks from Mayor Michael Copeland.
