When stormwater is not managed properly it can cause water pollution, streambank erosion, and flooding. Residential and business property owners are encouraged to help the City of Olathe manage stormwater run-off through a cost-share reimbursement program.
This program is an innovative approach to controlling stormwater quality impacts caused by stormwater runoff and is intended to help cover the costs of material, equipment rentals, and/or contractor labor to install stormwater management improvements.
The cost-share reimbursement will provide a 50% match on identified stormwater management improvements for up to $1,000 on rain gardens or native planting swales/buffers, and a 50% match on rain barrels, up to $75.
