Intersection improvements are scheduled to begin this week at the intersection of US 169 & 159th Street.
Phase one will include installation of traffic signal poles and demolition. The roadways will remain open, with lane reductions and closures occurring during working hours only.
Phase two will include removal of existing improvements, grading, installation of storm sewer, street lighting, curb and gutter, removal and replacement of asphalt on 159th Street. Weather permitting, this phase is tentatively scheduled to be completed in June and July. Traffic control will be present and will include lane closures, including the complete closure of 159th Street west of the US 169 (K-7) intersection.
The final phase will include additional intersection modifications, paving, signing, striping and sodding of the project limits. The project is tentatively scheduled to be complete in August of 2014. For more information, visit Construction Projects or contact the Project Manager at 913-971-9004.
