Free event parking with a shuttle to Mahaffie will be available at nearby Olathe North High School, 600 E. Prairie St. The shuttle on Saturday will operate from 8:00am to 4:25pm, the shuttle on Sunday will operate from 10:30am to 4:25pm. The last shuttle of the day will leave the Heritage Center at 4:25pm each day.
Handicapped accessible parking will be available at the Mahaffie Heritage Center.
Experience performances from Annie Oakley, the Whip Guy, and enjoy lots of hands on activities such as roping and gold panning. New this year is Wicked Liars: Fire Eating and Magic and Cowboy Baseball using 1860s rules being played on Saturday only at noon. Regular Site Admission Applies, a small fee charged for some activities. The Chuckwagon Cook-Off will take place Saturday only. Chuckwagons will begin cooking at daybreak on Saturday and samples will be ready for the public by noon on Saturday. Samples will be served until gone and voting will begin at 12:30pm on Saturday. Mutton Busting will take place on Sunday September 23 at 12:00 p.m. Mutton Busting is limited to little tumbleweeds ages 6 and under and weighing 50 pounds and under, (for the safety of the sheep), and parents and/or guardians must sign a waiver at the time of registration. Registration will open at 11 a.m. on Sunday and will take place near the arena on the grounds of the Mahaffie Farm. Mutton Busting participants are encouraged to wear long pants, sturdy shoes (no flip flops) and a long sleeve shirt. The photograph is of Wicked Liars.
Activity tickets may be purchased at the Children's Mercantile. Activity tickets may be used for: branding, gold panning, leather stamping, and the air gun shooting gallery (ages 8 and up). Pony rides ($4/ride), mechanical bull rides, the gandy dancer are provided by separate contractors and activity tickets are not valid for these activities. The portrait artist and 19th Century Wet plate photography are also separate contractors. Your admission includes many activities listed on the schedule of events and you will receive a map of all of the activities.
