Project Description:

Quailwood Park, located at approximately 140th and Greenwood Street (Google Map), will be Olathe's newest park addition.  The 1/3-acre park will consist of a 16x20 foot custom-designed wood shelter, two picnic tables, and a playground designed for children 2-12 years old.  Additional features will include BBQ grill, playground seating area, drinking fountain with pet station, bicycle rack, trash receptacles and landscaping.  The improvements are designed to integrate with a future bicycle-pedestrian trail.

Project Status:

Construction of Quailwood Park is in progress.  The shelter is completed and the playground will be installed late fall 2009.

Funding:

Funding is provided through the Park Excise Tax-Neighborhood Park Fund.  Estimated total cost is $150,000.
