College students have the opportunity to participate in a non-paid college credited internship program during Fall, Spring and Summer semesters:

• Work on a project
• Gain experience in numerous areas within the Police Department
• Participate in ride-a-longs

Student applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

• U.S. Citizenship and 18-years or older
• Currently enrolled in a college or university
• Earning college credits for the internship
• Comply with Olathe Police Department rules and regulations
• Pass interview, polygraph examination and background check
• Sign liability wavers.

If selected for an interview, the following documents are required:

• Copy of valid driver’s license
• Copy of social security card
• Certified copy of your birth certificate or Naturalization documents
• Official college transcripts in a sealed envelope
• Official letter from the attending college or university, stating how many credit hours will be awarded and how many hours must be worked during the internship
