Streets

Residents desiring to report an issue concerning any of the items listed below should call (913) 971-9511 during normal business hours, or contact Streets.

Block Party Procedures are as follows: Residents desiring to have a block party must notify the city clerk at (913) 971-8600 to acquire a permit.

Traffic

Pavement Markings -

If you have a concern about pavement markings please call 971-5170 or contact Traffic.

School Beacons/Crosswalks  -

If a school beacon is out or not flashing on the appropriate days please let us know the name of school by calling 971-5170 or contact Traffic.

Example: The west beacon for Pioneer Trail Junior High...  

Signals -

If you have a concern about the operation of an existing signal please call 971-5180 or contact Traffic. Please include: date and time of day you experienced the problem, your direction of travel, the lane you are traveling in, and both names of the intersecting streets.

Example: On Tuesday, August 12, at approximately 8:30 a.m., I was at 119th and Strang Line, traveling eastbound on 119th Street sitting in the left turn lane to go northbound on Strang Line and ...

Signs -

If a STOP sign is down, please call 971-5170 immediately with the following information:

1) name of the intersecting streets and

2) which direction of travel the stop sign was located in (i.e. northbound).

Street Lights -

All street light concerns can be reported through the City of Olathe by calling 971-8513 or contact Street Lights. If the street light is owned by KCPL or Westar we will forward the report.  

It is important to include the following information when reporting a streetlight problem:

1) the residential address that the street light is located in front of and

2) the identification number on the pole.
