US 169/K-7 and 159th Street Intersection
The improvements to the intersection of US 169 & 159th Street include the construction of upgraded traffic signals, turn lanes, storm sewer and pedestrian facilities at the intersection.
Current Project Status:
Amino Brothers Company, Inc. was awarded the construction project and Notice to Proceed for Monday, April 21, 2014, in which construction will begin. Phase one of the project will include the installation of traffic signal poles and demolition. The roadways will remain open, with lane reductions and closures occurring during working hours only.
The second phase of the project will include removal of existing improvements, grading, installation of storm sewer, street lighting, curb and gutter, removal and replacement of asphalt on 159th Street. This phase of the project is schedule to take place in June and July of 2014, weather permitting. Traffic control will be present and will include lane closures, as well as a full closure of 159th Street west of the US 169 (K-7) intersection to perform the paving work.
The final phase of the project will include additional intersection modifications, paving, signing, striping and sodding of the project limits.
The project is tentatively scheduled for completion in August 2014.
