The Olathe Human Relations Commission (OHRC) is an eleven member volunteer board dedicated to fostering understanding and cooperation among the diverse groups which make up our community. The OHRC is committed to fostering an atmosphere of inclusion, by ensuring that all citizens of the City of Olathe have an equal opportunity and access to employment, housing, and public accommodations regardless of color, disability, gender, national origin, race, religion, sexual orientation and/or socio-economic status.
The OHRC meets the fourth Monday of every month at 6:00 p.m. in the City of Olathe's Housing Office Conference Room, located at 200 West Santa Fe. The Olathe Human Relations Commission:
Advises and consults with the City Council and the City Manager on matters involvong racial, religious or ethnic discrimination;
Recommends to the City Council and the City Manager measures designed to eliminate prejudice and discrimination; and
Promotes and encourages communications between all groups interested in bettering community relations.
