Corn, pumpkins and melons Mahaffie Corn Field Mahaffie Garden

The corn field will be Bloody Butcher, a 19th Century field corn. Our garden will have 19th Century Heirloom vegetables.

Pumping water Come help our garden and fields grow! Help water, weed, and as the season goes on, help harvest the bounty! All crops and produce will be used in our 19th Century foodways program. When you explore the cellar of the 1865 Mahaffie home, the person cooking on the cookstove will be using what is grown in the garden and fields. When the food is not being used for those programs, we will be preserving the extra, just like the Mahaffie family would have done! Happy Farming!
