Teams are forming now for the fifth annual Mahaffie Sunflower Wickets croquet tournament.
This unique event is hosted by the Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop and Farm Foundation in support of the preservation, programming and promotion of the Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop and Farm Historic Site located at 1200 Kansas City Road in Olathe. Croquet was a popular and inexpensive sport throughout the country in the mid-19th century.
Sunflower Wickets will be held Friday, June 6, at the new Olathe Community Center, located across the street from the Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop and Historic Site. Registration begins at 1:00 p.m. followed by Croquet play from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Wicked Wickets Happy Hour runs from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. with the presentation of awards at 4:00 p.m.
Tables of eight are available and two-person teams are now forming. For more information about forming a team or tournament sponsorship opportunities, visit Mahaffie.org, contact Mahaffie at (913) 971-5111 contact Mahaffie.
