Park development at 116th and Greenwood
Construction on the park at 116th and Greenwood in the Santa Marta area continues to make progress. Although behind schedule, the crews continue to develop the park with a concrete walking trail, picnic shelter, playground and open play lawn. It is anticipated that the park will be completed this summer. Final plant material installation may not occur until the fall.
Lone Elm Park - Soccer/Softball Parking Lot Expansion
Seal-O-Matic Paving Company, Inc. has been awarded the contract to expand the parking lots at both the soccer and softball complexes at Lone Elm Park. Work will begin on Monday, May 5, 2014. The construction will include the following: the addition of 90 parking stalls to the soccer complex along with a second entrance and roadway on the east side of the property. The softball complex will have the addition of 82 stalls to the north and 65 stalls to the south of the existing lot. Construction is expected to last until August 4, 2014. The complex will still be open, but patrons are asked to use caution during this construction period.
